ADA AVETIST bio info links

Ada Avetist is an Austrian artist currently based in London. Her practice develops through a dialogue with previous artistic movements and strategies linked to conceptualism and the avantgarde. Avetist recycles ideas and aesthetics which she finds during her research and develops a methodological practice based on repetition and seriality. Her oeuvre evolves within the transfer between different media, issuing the creative process of her work as an interlinked life cycle which is generated systematically in connection to Avetist's biography. This way she is exploring her personal heritage and positioning towards history, redefining space with a focus on geographical borders and reproduces ambiguities within systematic thinking.

In 2011 Avetist co-founded HARD-CORE, with which she is developing new curatorial techniques and has participated in exhibitions such as the "Zinkovy Arts Festival" in Czech Republic and "Calculated Sustainability Without Decisions" in Reykjavik, Iceland. In 2012 Avetist co-founded of Galerie Harry Mugwumps, which sets new parameters for collaborative curating and has developed projects in "L`OV/Espace Off du CAN" in Neuchâtel, "Espace Libre" in Biel and "Urgend Paradise" in Lausanne, Switzerland.
